Question One:  Fiscal Reality and Responsibility  (for all candidates)

What is your position on (a) an increase in the property tax rate, and (b) an increase in the tax levy?  With a potential $5 million revenue shortfall this year and $25 million next year for General Fund operations, what specific programs and departments would you cut and by how
much?   If you are proposing "new initiatives", what programs will be cut further to finance them? What is your position on (a) an increase in the property tax rate, and (b) an increase in the tax levy?

Question 3, Neighborhood concerns: What do you perceive to be the top 3 concerns of our neighborhood?  What concretely will you do to resolve those concerns?  Among the items identified by our members are: (a)  improving local park infrastructure and providing
children's programs, (b)  reducing Executive Airport noise pollution by requiring the
I-95 turn or banning flights between 11 PM and 7 AM, (c)  enforcing leash ordinances and clean-up after pets to ensure public health, and (d)  more restrictive zoning and enhanced code enforcement.

  1. Inger Garcia is in this race for the right reasons. She is the most educated, intelligent, and well spoken. She will advocate for the citizens not for her husband developer or for the police only. She has written for the Ft. Lauderdale City News as the "Condo Lawyer" and has fought for our rights as an advocate for years. Call Representative Julio Robiana and ask him about her dedication to helping our causes. She is for our "Green Space" and for helping us make our City a great place to live. Vote for her. Vote for change. No dog in this fight - but us!!!!

  2. I have read her articles over the past two years on-line. What a great advocate for the battles she chooses. I want her to fight for me. I know she will listen and present my opinions to the commission. I look forward to our future now that I know I have the option of voting for a commissioner that will do the right thing and not just for a political connection or because she owes someone.
